Leslie Lewis Sword's work as an actor and writer is reaching a growing global audience through her acclaimed solo show MIRACLE IN RWANDA (co-created and directed by Edward Vilga.) MIRACLE IN RWANDA tells the inspirational story of Immaculée Ilibagiza (New York Times bestselling author and featured on SIXTY MINUTES). Leslie created and plays over a dozen characters in the piece the Village Voice described as "riveting theater" and the LA Times called "a journey of faith."

Prior to this, Leslie’s performance as Dorothy Dandridge in Jamal William's one-woman show Yesterday Came Too Soon sold out for all performances at the National Black Theatre Off-Broadway in Harlem, New York, under the creative direction of Dr. Barbara Ann Teer.

This winter, Leslie Lewis Sword filmed her latest role as Isaiah Washington's wife in the feature film AREA Q, helmed by Brazilian director Gerson Sanginitto. Before this, she appeared in Edward Vilga’s films DEAD BROKE [Paul Sorvino, Jill Hennessy, John Glover, Tony Roberts, and Justin Theroux] and CHAOS THEORY. She has also co-starred with Billy Zane in the short film STARVING HYSTERICAL NAKED, a biopic about the Beat Generation Writers.

Leslie is an accomplished poet and author. She is currently creating both a new comic solo show and developing a modern adaptation of a classic 40s comedy.

Leslie divides her time between Vancouver, Los Angeles, and New York. She has a BA from Harvard and an MFA in acting from UCLA.
